This band is the North American answer to true Satanic black metal acts such as Watain, Ofermod, Funeral Mist, etc.  The band performs a martial, orthodox form of black metal, fueled by ferocity and hellfire.  Aggressive, ugly and well-recorded, this attack will yet again prove that Canada's ever-extreme Vancouver, BC-area black metal scene has spawned some of the ugliest metal of our time, and alongside countrymen BLASPHEMY, AXIS OF ADVANCE, WITCHES HAMMER, ALLFATHER, CONQUEROR and REVENGE, Gloria Diaboli are now leaving their mark on this important regions history of violent and chaotic metal.
-
Gate To Sheol was mastered @ Necromorbus Studio in Sweden (Watain, Malign, Averse Sefira, Ofermod, etc).
Gate To Sheol features 7 tracks.

DREAM THEATER "PROGRESSIVE NATION" TOUR LAUNCHES MAY 2 IN LOS ANGELES; RHINO TO RELEASE FIRST-EVER TWO-DISC BEST OF APRIL 1
-
N.Y. Prog-Metal Pioneers Will Go on Road with Opeth, Between the Buried and Me and 3 for 21-date North American Tour to Promote GREATEST HIT Album
-
LOS ANGELES, FEBRUARY 28, 2008—N.Y. progressive metal pioneers Dream Theater will embark on its 21-date North American "Progressive Nation"
tour starting May 2 at Los Angeles' Gibson Amphitheatre and concluding June 1 in Tampa, FL, highlighted by two shows at New York's brand-new Terminal 5 (May 21-22), which sold out in just two days.
-
Opening acts Opeth, Between the Buried and Me and 3 were personally picked by Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy, who helped organize the
tour: "I've wanted to do something that focuses on the more progressive, musician-oriented side of hard rock and metal for 10 years now," he says. "I decided it was time to stop talking the talk, lace up and finally walk the walk."
-
The tour will be preceded on April 1 by the release of Dream Theater's GREATEST HIT (...and 21 Other Pretty Cool Songs) on Rhino, the album's tongue-in-cheek title refers to "Pull Me Under," the first and only major radio hit for the quintet; this is the band's first-ever best-of compilation, spanning 14 years and 22 songs, featuring rare edits, B-sides and three new Kevin Shirley mixes. The two discs are divided into "The Dark Side" (the metallic) and "The Light Side" (the melodic), with songs ranging from their sophomore 1992 release, Images and Words, through 2005's Octavarium.
-
The band's 22-year career has seen them sell more than 8 million albums worldwide, with their last three DVDs each having gone platinum. The band has been on the road since June 2007, playing to growing crowds in Asia, Australia and South America, on the "Chaos in Motion" world tour in support of their most recent Roadrunner Records studio album, Systematic Chaos, one of the most successful of their career.
"Forsaken," the second video from the disc, shot in Japanese anime, recently debuted on MTV 2's Headbangers Ball after "C onstant Motion"
was voted #2 Video of the Year by viewers of the show last year. They were featured as Artist of the Month on Microsoft Xbox Live in December
2007
-
The group continues to grow its fan base all over the world, including Central and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Dream Theater topped the bill for the 2005 Gigantour alongside Megadeth, and has also co-headlined with both Queensryche and Joe Satriani. On April 1, 2006, the band played New York's Radio City Music Hall, a show which sold out in just three days.

Formed in 1999 by Sapp, Ginn, and former bassist Jimmy McCall. Band played increasingly weird death metal for two and a half years before adding Simpkins to the line-up and going instrumental. Recorded the Spatial/Design EP in December 2002, which was promptly released the next year by North Carolina label Tribunal Records. In 2004, Canvas released their debut LP, Sublimation, again through Tribunal. In February 2005 the band signed with Sensory Records (home to Spiral Architect, Gordian Knot, Zero Hour, et al.), who just released the band's second full-length album, Penumbra Diffuse. Slaughtering, pillaging, and world domination to be released later this year.... The Atomized Dream will be released by Sensory in May 2008. JOHN FOGERTY TO INDUCT THE VENTURES INTO ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME MARCH 10 Rock Legend to Induct World's Best-Selling Instrumental Rock Group, With Hits Such as "Walk Don't Run," "Perfidia," "Secret Agent Man" and "Hawaii 5-0"
-
LOS ANGELES, February 26, 2008—Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy winning rocker, John Fogerty, will induct the legendary Ventures into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 10th.
-
"He came to our dressing room and told us how inspired he was by us,"
says Ventures co-founder Don Wilson of his first meeting with Fogerty a few years back. "I've always liked Clearance Clear Water Revival and liked what he did in his solo career, as well."
-
The Ventures formed in the Seattle-Tacoma area of Washington 49 years ago, which first hit big with the release of the single, "Walk Don't Run," will enter those hallowed halls on March 10 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York, where they will be joined by Leonard Cohen, The Dave Clark Five, Madonna and John Mellencamp at the 23rd Annual Induction Dinner.
-
Joining fellow Seattle native Jimi Hendrix as the Pacific Northwest's only Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, The Ventures' honor may be long overdue, but it comes just in time for the band to mark its 50th anniversary next year.
-
After releasing the single, "Walk Don't Run," on their own label, Blue Horizon, started by Don's own mother, Wilson, along with co-founding bassist Bob Bogle, guitarist Nokie Edwards and drummer Howie Johnson (and very soon after, Mel Taylor), saw the song hit #2 on the pop chart in the summer of 1960, prevented from going #1 by a combination of Chubby Checker's "The Twist," Elvis Presley's "Now or Never," Brian Hyland's "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" and Roy Orbison's "Only the Lonely."
-
That was just the beginning of a run that would land the band a string of Gold albums and singles, 200 plus albums released in over 100 countries and almost 100 million albums sold, including a mind-boggling 50 million in Japan alone, where they remain superstars to this day.
-
Credited with creating the foundation for the surf-rock genre, the group's string of hit singles included "Perfidia," "Walk Don't Run 64"
and "Hawaii 5-0," as well as the only instructional album, Play Guitar with the Ventures, to ever hit the Billboard chart. Along with the hit singles, The Ventures had monster LP-hits with "Pipeline," "Wipeout" and the "Lonely Bull."
-
The group, which now includes Don Wilson, lead guitarists Nokie Edwards, Gerry McGee Bob Spaulding and drummer Leon Taylor, son of the original Venture Mel Taylor, who died in 1996, continues to tour, having just returned from a trip to Japan.

RISE VS TRAGIC HERO!
THE TOUR, THE DEBATE, YOU VOTE!
FEATURING OCEANA, A KISS FOR JERSEY, A DIFFERENT BREED OF KILLER, KNIVES EXCHANGING HANDS AND ALTERNATING ARTISTS (3/2-3/30)
-
Election year madness erupts as two popular indie labels decide to take competition on the road with the Rise Vs Tragic Hero Tour.  The tour which features Oceana (Rise), A Kiss For Jersey (Tragic Hero) headlining as well as A Different Breed Of Killer (Rise), Knives Exchanging Hands (Tragic Hero) and various other bands from each label jumping on in different markets.  The VS in the title is purely good spirited competition as Rise Records honcho Craig Ericson and Tragic Hero boss, Tommy LaCombe are good friends. Speaking on the idea LaCombe says “Both Craig and I have had breakout bands and growing sales in the last couple of years.  I frequently get e-mails from kids saying that they love both labels and it’s pretty obvious that kids who are fans of artists we’ve had on the label like Alesana, The Hottness and A Kiss From Jersey and also into The Devil Wears Prada, Dance Gavin Dance and Emarosa.  I fondly remember when Solid State and Tooth & Nail put out that campaign pitting themselves against the other, it was very exciting guerrilla marketing but a lot of kids removed from the scene didn’t even realize it was really two arms of the same organization.  In the end a tour like this breaks out our up and coming heavy and soft artists and everyone gets listened to and gets exposed to new fans.”
Ericson echoed the sentiment saying “Regardless of which band kids walk into the show liking they are going to walk out having been exposed to several other up and coming bands to love and that’s a win win.”
The tour kicks off March 2nd in Tragic Hero’s hometown of Raleigh and new albums from each of the artists featured will drop in the next few months.  (Dates Below)

-
Charlie Benante, drummer for thrash legends Anthrax, spent Monday February 11 back in the classroom. Benante turned the Woodlawn Middle School in Lawn Grove, IL into his own School of Rock! The accomplished Grammy-nominated musician was invited to the school to speak with 7th graders about his experience with music, both as a student and a performer.
-
Benante commented on the experience: "My stepson comes home one day and says that he learned how to play "Smoke On The Water." I'm like, 'What?!
That was one of the first songs I learned how to play too. They're still using that?' I thought it was great. He asked me, "Would you come to the school and show the class some things?" He convinced me and I ended up doing it."
-
Benante spent a class period speaking to 75 music and art students about his experience learning how to play music, as well as all things Anthrax.
School librarian and technology director Howard Frishman, who organized the event, had this to say: "Charlie had a profound effect on the students. He's a great motivational speaker. There was a buzz going around school. When we first came up with this, we said, "Let's do something cool the kids won't forget."
-
One lucky student was asked to come up in front of the class and received some one-on-one schooling from Benante. "Because of guitar hero, these kids who are 12 years old know songs like "Madhouse" and "Paint It Black," said Benante. "They asked me to play those, as well as some Led Zeppelin."
-
"I also told them about how I went and took guitar lessons. I told them the lessons seemed boring at the time and that the last thing I wanted to do after a week of regular school was go to music school. But I told them later on that it all made sense to me, because I benefited from doing that. When I'm playing with the band, a certain rudiment will come out of me, and I can always trace it back to when I took lessons."
-
Benante and Frishman are already considering a second information session at the school, and the drummer hasn't ruled out the possibility of having the rest of the members of Anthrax there as well.
Additionally, Benante and Ovation Guitars will be donating several guitars to support the music programs that are so important to today's youth.

CD CURATED BY TOMAS YOUNG, IRAQ WAR VETERAN AND SUBJECT OF AWARD-WINNING
2007 DOCUMENTARY BODY OF WAR
ALBUM PRE-ORDER AND SPECIAL FOOTAGE AVAILABLE AT BODYOFWARMUSIC.COM
-
February 22, 2008 - Burbank, CA - Body of War: Songs that Inspired an Iraq War Veteran, a double-CD compilation of songs curated by Iraq war veteran Tomas Young, will be released by Sire Records on March 18, 2008
- two days before the fifth anniversary of the United States' invasion of Iraq. Young, now 26, was shot and paralyzed from the chest down after serving in Iraq for less than a week. His heart-wrenching and inspiring story is told in the critically acclaimed feature documentary Body of War, produced and directed by Phil Donahue and Ellen Spiro.
-
Young enlisted in the Army just two days after 9/11 intending to fight those responsible for the terrorist attacks on the U.S. He has transformed his personal suffering into political activism. His powerful story and authentic voice serve to question the war in Iraq that cost him his mobility, and convey the moving journey of a young veteran's survival and adaptation to his new life as paraplegic. Young personally selected each of the tracks that appear on Body of War: Songs that Inspired an Iraq War Veteran, including Eddie Vedder's previously unreleased, live version of "No More," which was written specifically for the Body of War documentary and performed with Ben Harper at Lollapalooza 2007 in Chicago's Grant Park. The double-CD set also features incisive songs from John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Bright Eyes, Neil Young, Lupe Fiasco, Serj Tankian, and many others (see below for full track-listing).
-
This music, Young says, serves as his personal 'soundtrack for Iraq.'
"The compilation record was an idea that grew out of my love of music and my reliance on it before, during, and after the war," he says. "The songs I selected for the record were tracks that inspired, motivated, and at times, literally saved me over the past few years."
-
"Tomas has taught me a great deal, and our friendship has become one of depth and sincerity," Vedder adds. "It has been a mind-expanding experience. I see how he relies on the strength of the songs to help him through each day. It is a true living example of the power of music."
The Body Of War music site (www.bodyofwarmusic.com) goes live today and enables visitors to pre-order the Body Of War double CD set, view the video for "No More" by Ellen Spiro and special bonus footage with Tomas Young and Eddie Vedder, as well as link to sites and a forum where users can take action based on their feelings about the Iraq war. - All proceeds from Body of War: Songs That Inspired an Iraq War Veteran, which features original cover art designed and donated by acclaimed political artist Shepard Fairey, go to benefit the non-profit organization Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW), as chosen by Young.
Founded in 2004 by Iraq war veterans, IVAW's goal is to give voice to the large number of active-duty service people and veterans who are against the war, but are under various pressures to remain silent. In September, Sire Records donated $100,000 to IVAW in the name of Young, who is a spokesperson for the organization.
-
Body of War premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11th, 2007, to unanimous critical praise. Richard Corliss of Time magazine called it "a superb documentary ... almost unbearably moving." Named "Best Documentary of 2007" by the National Board of Review, the film also took home the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Hamptons' International Film Festival, and was runner-up for the People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. It will begin a nationwide theatrical release in March.

-
With a top ten hit and an Aria nomination already to their name, there is no wonder so many record labels had their eye on DUKES OF WINDSOR, however Universal Music is pleased to announce their signing to its Australian artist roster.
-
DUKES OF WINDSOR found their first incarnation when Jack Weaving
(vocals) and Cory Blight (drums/engineer) spent several months in Cory's bedroom writing songs. They enlisted the talents of Scott Targett (keyboard), Oscar Dawson (guitar) and Joe Franklin (bass) in 2005 and the tectonic indie electro rock sounds of DUKES OF WINDSOR were created.
-
Releasing the Foxhunt EP, debut album The Others and gigging in their hometown of Melbourne, it wasn't long until DUKES OF WINDSOR created waves everywhere they went. They toured nationally, were awarded Triple J's "Next Crop Artist 2006", and in 2007 the remix of their debut single "The Others" was certified Gold in Australia, was a top 10 Aria single, spent a huge three months at #1 on the Aria Club Chart, received an Aria Award nomination, and in December the band were raved about as one of the highlights of The Falls Festival in Victoria. -  The band has called upon the Nordic talents of hardcore legends Pelle Henriccson and Eskil Lövström  (Refused "The Shape of Punk to Come") to produce their forthcoming album set for release mid year. DUKES OF WINDSOR are currently battling the lack of daylight and below zero temperatures in Umeĺ, Sweden while recording the album in a converted ex-mental asylum! Jack and Oscar have said of the experience, "Pelle and Eskil have created a relaxed and loving environment to record music.
Unfortunately Joe has been so high on snus (Swedish tobacco) the entire time that he has been unable to record his parts. We hope he comes down soon." The band are also making the video to the first single "It's a War" while they are in Umeĺ.
-
'I don't know about the other guys, but signing to Universal is great - Jess promised to buy me a house!' said Joe Franklin after penning with Universal.
-
Jess Beston, A&R Manager Universal Music Australia added, "When I first received the Dukes' demos last year they were quite simply the best songs I heard in 2007. There is just something about the way they write and arrange. Always something a little bit crazy and different and unexpected. The melodies of each instrument and Jack's stunning voice just weave so beautifully around each other amongst these manic, jagged rhythms, and it creates these unique, powerful, startling and electrifying songs. Just wait till you hear this album..."
-
The electric first single from the album, aptly titled "It's a War", will be officially serviced to radio March 10, digitally available from March 15, and physically available April 5. The album is slated for release on Island Records in June.

PlayRadioPlay! touring with Yellowcard to promote the new full length album TEXAS in stores March 18th!
-
People are talking about PlayRadioPlay! because of the loyal 86,000-plus MySpace friends who have generated more than 9 million plays, over 3.3 million profile views, and about 160,000 listens every week! In advance of the TEXAS album release, a new single has dropped entitled, "Madi Don't Leave," http://www.musicmedialink.com/a?t=d2013 which is Ovenfresh on Fuse starting this week http://fuse.tv/tv/ovenfresh/index.php
TEXAS is the long-awaited follow-up to The Frequency EP, released April 2007.  The 6-song EP (with a 7th bonus track) explored the pure pop instincts of 18-year old Daniel Hunter. Hunter played all the instruments on The Frequency EP, and followed the same formula on many of the TEXAS tracks. Although the EP was self-produced, Hunter collaborated on TEXAS with mega-rock producer Jackknife Lee (U2, Snow Patrol, Kasabian). PlayRadioPlay! will continue to cement his touring fanbase when he hits the road with Yellowcard in March. He has toured with Fall Out Boy, Anberlin, Meg & Dia and the Spill Canvas, along with summer festival tours including Vans Warped Tour and Cornerstone.

Darkest Hour regrets that we have to cancel the last remaining days of our Doomsayer's North American Tour.  However, all of the shows will go on as scheduled (with the Red Chord headlining New York City, NY, and Allentown, PA) except for Washington, DC, which has been outright canceled.
-
The tour has been an amazing time but guitarist Kris Norris has been summoned home to attend to the early birth of his first little baby. It is with great joy that we wish Kris and his wife Christina luck with their new addition to the family.
-
Sometimes when you live out on the road, life back home has to be put first. We couldn't have asked for a better tour package on this tour and our hearts go out to EMMURE, WHITE CHAPEL, and CHEPHALIC CARNAGE. We only hope to be blessed with their mighty rock again sometime soon.
-
Utmost, we apologize to all the fans, friends, dudes and dudettes out there in (NY, DC, and PA). We will be back to make it up to you for sure! We will see ya this summer with a surprise that we can't wait to announce.
