Bio
In the beginning of 2005 Domino De La Rogue was on his way back to Finland from a trip to Los Angeles and on the plane he decided to finally fulfil a life long dream, to put together the best Heavy Metal band that he could possibly get. Domino had for years been playing in different bands and line ups seemed to fit or have what it takes to make it. So for starters he needed the best singer and front man in the current finnish rock scene. For Domino this was easy since he allready knew Lee Angel who was singing in a band called Hideout, so after some convinceing Lee agreed to join the vision of starting Baton Rogue Morgue and take it straight to the top. The road would prove to be less straight than the boys had imagened...
From Dominos previous band Soulhate they took the obvious choise for a bass player, the decadent and self-destructive Timothy but by far the most talented bass player with attitude in the finnish rock scene.
After the release of the first demo and the first gig in Porvoo, Finland the trio knew that they had something unique that other bands didn’t have. The problem was to find the rest of the guys and for 3 years BRM played with a session drummer and lead guitarist. During these 3 years BRM recorded 3 full lenghted albums and played gigs that earned them the reputation of being the hottest uprising band, and not just in Finland.
In 2008 the original trio had had enough, they fired the session players and started to look for real members to join the BRM family.Without remembering it Domino had had for a while, always totally wasted, asked Karda to join BRM. Karda was the drummer of Skulldriver, a promising local thrash metal act. Now a sober Domino picked up the phone and was totally suprised when Karda said he agreed to join a long time ago but Domino had never rememberd it in the mornings.
At the same time Francesco "Gasoline" Mattei moved from his home country Italy to Helsinki Finland for one reason only, to join a serious Heavy Metal band. After just a week cruising the streets of Helsinki he heard that BRM was looking for a lead guitar player and went to the audition. Everything matched from the beginning and the whole gang became instant friends.
Now with a solid line up they started to write new songs and in 2009 they went for the first time into the studio as a band. Considering the 2000 euro budget and 5 five days spent in the Sin After Sin studio, the outcome is the brilliant "High end of the Season" cd/dvd. With 5 promotional videos and killer songs like "Hellride" and "Massacre of st.Valentines Day" the band started to get media attention and radio airplay and gigs overseas.
In 2009 Baton Rogue Morgue headlined the Metal Massacre Festival in Italy and played in some of the major clubs in Finland. In 2010 still promoteing the "High End of theSeason" cd/dvd the band headlined the Staari Rokker Biker festival in Umag, Croatia in front of 8000 people and after that back to Italy to headline the same Metal Massacre festival for the second time.
Currently BRM is focusing on writing new material and have already a selection of 7-8 songs with totally hit material with songs like "This Blood", "Midnight Rose", "Tokyo Nights" and "Poison Apples". The band is also focusing on getting a proper record company and the support it needs to take them to the world.
Anybody that have ever been to a BRM show knows that this band will make it. It is not just the energy and the outstanding song material but the magic between the members and the audience both on and off stage. In all honesty is have to be said that BRM is a lot about image and based on visual feelings but everything is real, the members are 100% themselves and look the way they do and sound the way they sound.
In October 2010 Baton Rogue Morgue are booked as headliners for the Kuranda Bike Expo in Cairns, Australia. Plans are also to play some shows in Melbourne and Sidney.
For the winter 2010/2011 BRM are allready organizeing a west American tour in California and Arizona.
